Tom Pecheux takes over at YSL Beauté
Legendary French make-up artist Tom Pecheux is the new global beauty director of YSL Beauté. He has worked with celebrities including Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron, but he is perhaps best know for doing Princess Diana’s make-up for her 1997 cover of Vanity Fair. He has since gone on to work with make-up brands including Prada, Chanel and Estée Lauder. The make-up legend will work with YSL to create new looks and products for the brand so expect to see some exciting changes. His creative ideas and years of knowledge will be incorporated into the development of the beauty giant over the next few seasons.
UAE favourite Elie Saab has launched a limited-edition perfume inspired by his latest couture collection. Le Parfum Éclat d’Or is golden in appearance, much like many of the Lebanese designer’s couture creations for this season, and the scent combines fresh oriental floral ingredients. Dh415, available at beauty counters nationwide.
Of all the Spring/Summer make-up ranges Lancôme’s has to be the prettiest. Its rose-inspired collection looks too good to use. My favourite is the Rose Powder Illuminator – the delicate box holds fabric in the shape of a flower sprinkled with tiny specks of pearlescent glitter to give your cheekbones a natural shimmer. It’s designed so just a light dusting of sparkle will be picked up. Dh320, at counters nationwide.
I love the new Berries and Chocolate Collection by Bobbi Brown. In one of her last collections for her own brand (the make-up artist will depart the company later this year to work on unknown new ventures), Bobbi has taken inspiration from two of her favourite foods for this range of eye, lip and nail products. In rich brown and red tones, the range highlights some of this season’s must-have colours. Prices start at Dh70, at Bobbi Brown stores.
That’s how many scented soaps are in the new collaboration between British artist Michael Angove and Jo Malone. The fruity scents include lime, basil and mandarin, and red roses and pomegranate, and each soap comes in stylish packaging designed by the textile artist. Dh110 each, available at Jo Malone stores nationwide.
