Naomi rocks H&M
British supermodel Naomi Campbell – who recently turned 47 – shows no sign of stepping off either the catwalk (she walked alongside other veteran supers for Versace in Milan this week) or the fashion pages. She fronts the latest advertising campaign for H&M, dancing around Tokyo in a short haircut, presenting the A/W collection from the Swedish brand.
Puma X Sophie Webster is finally here!
A few months ago I told you about an exciting collaboration between footwear designer Sophia Webster and sports brand Puma. The wait is over – the first drop of the range is now in Puma stores and online. As promised, Sophia has put her unique style onto never-seen-before shapes and silhouettes by Puma. Expect to find metallic panels, neon laces, butterfly prints and coloured soles, all Sophia’s signature styles.
Fashion meets art
S*uce boutiques are a treasure trove for unique and unusual jewellery, and the latest collection by Saudi brand Arwa Jewellery is possibly my favourite yet. Inspired by the artworks of Van Gogh, the 18 karat gold pieces resemble the Dutch artist’s famous flower paintings. The Flower Pot collection features precious stones such as rubies, sapphires and emeralds – hence the prices, which start at Dh5,000. Find the range at S*uce Rocks, at Dubai’s Galleria Mall on Al Wasl Road.
I love these super-cute embroidered bags by Steve Madden. The micro bags come in three colours and are inspired by the oriental trend that’s so huge this season. The thick guitar-style strap is going to be the must-have look for autumn so I recommend getting yours now before it’s too late. Dh279, available at Steve Madden stores nationwide.
London fashion week moments you might have missed
No fur Here
Anti-fur protestors gathered outside the doors of the Burberry show to protest against the use of fur by luxury clothing brands. Chants of the protestors could be heard from inside the show and attendees were reportedly warned not to wear any kind of fur when heading to the show. Hear hear!
COS celebrates 10 Years
Swedish fashion store COS – a higher-end sister to H&M – celebrated its 10-year anniversary in London with a huge party at the iconic National Gallery in the city. Rudimental performed at the show and guests celebrated in a light-up neon forest next to priceless works of art.
Kate Moss’s FROW mini-me
The supermodel – who recently launched a wallpaper collection! – sat front row at London Fashion Week with her look alike daughter, Lila Grace. Kate even introduced the 14-year-old to new British Vogue editor Edward Enninful (above). I feel a mother-daughter shoot coming on...
After years as a fashion month outlier, London is now the city to show in. Tommy Hilfiger, Giorgio Armani (above) and Roland Mouret did their runway shows there for the first time, while Ralph and Russo chose the UK capital for their debut RTW show.
