The last two days have been non-stop, from Gigi Hadid’s designer debut at Tommy Hilfiger to Kate Spade’s Morroccon themed fashion show – where to begin?
Yesterday I checked into my second stop of the journey, The Tuscany, a St. Giles Hotel in Manhattan. The room is huge, and downstairs they have the famous Sushi Roxx restaurant and bar that’s packed every night – I can’t wait to try it!
After checking in I headed to the Desigual catwalk show. There were so many well-dressed people outside the show area! I’ve never seen so many fashionistas in one place. Me? I was wearing my favourite metallic skirt from Zara and a simple Banana Republic T-shirt.
The Desigual show was everything you’d expect from the brand – denim, bright colourful prints, boho style pieces with a Seventies feel and plenty of beachwear. While it is the Spring/Summer collection it will be perfect for the winter months in the UAE!
After the shows I had a few hours free for a spot of sightseeing so I popped to Time Square for a look around. It really feels like the centre of the world. It’s so vibrant and busy – I feel like I’m on a film set! After that it was time for bed before another busy day tomorrow.
The next morning I was up very early for the Kate Spade New York presentation. I chose to wear Kate Spade myself and opted for the cutest floral print dress. The designer Deborah Lloyd took inspiration from a recent trip to Morocco for the collection which was set in a penthouse suite on Broadway. The clothes featured floral prints, denim, and colourful pieces that were completed with tassles and pom poms.
Later in the day I headed to the highly anticipated Tommy Hilfiger fashion show which featured the collection designed by supermodel Gigi Hadid. The show was set amongst a fairground on a pier overlooked by the Brooklyn Bridge. It was absolutely stunning! The show was attended by Gigi’s best friend Taylor Swift who sat on the front row looking stunning in Tommy Hilfiger and some incredible thigh-high red boots. The collection itself had a nautical theme, with anchor prints, stripes and a blue, red and white colour palette.
After the show the party continued well on into the evening with the fairground staying open until late.
