A panel discussion with artists Mohamed Al Mazrouei and Mays Albaik at The Art Gallery at New York University Abu Dhabi is scheduled at 5 pm on Saturday, April 30. It will be moderated by Salwa Mikdadi, an expert on the history of Modern Arab art.
The panel will explore issues relevant to the ongoing exhibition Diana Al-Hadid: Phantom Limb through the eyes of the panellists. Both Al Mazrouei and Albaik’s work deal with unusual materials and subtle but distinct biographical references, all relevant issues for Diana Al-Hadid’s work as well.
The two artists will talk about the materiality and the biographical aspect of their artistic practice, and the different strategies they use in their creative process.
Admission is free for the event. To register, go to: http://www.nyuad-artgallery.org/en_US/events/2016/dah-panel-discussion-artistvsmaterial/
