FOR A SONG
No one can beat English musician Benjamin Sainte-Clémentine’s songs and voice. I discovered him a year ago and I love how he plays the piano. But my playlist is very eclectic and you’ll find romantic, pop and Italian songs in there.
NOT WITHOUT MY DAUGHTERS
On weekends I make it a point to wake up late and then it’s all about my daughters Paulina (12 ) and Nicole (11). We walk or bike together to their ballet class from our home in Valencia and have a healthy breakfast on the way of fruit yogurt, olive oil and tomatoes with multigrain bread and coffee for me . Sometimes we spend the day at the beach with a picnic lunch, singing in the car, and around 6pm we return for a family dinner with my parents and cousins. My daughters adore their grandparents.
My daughters and I love sushi a lot. Once a month, we go to a Japanese restaurant, as it’s our favourite meal. I love Kabuki in Madrid and La Duna in Valencia, to eat paella by the beach. We love to cook Mediterranean food at home too.
My weekends are very busy as I have too many hobbies and not enough time. It’s a problem! I love to play the piano (I made a career playing it for 10 years!) and the violoncello. I really enjoy skiing (both alpine and water). I play golf too.
RUNWAYS AND STREETS
It’s amazing to see supermodels such as Bar Refaeli wear my designs, but I feel special when I see any woman wear them. I still remember the first time I saw Dubai-based fashion consultant Natalia Shustova in one of our gowns. I’d like to dress up French art director and model Julia Restoin Roitfeld. Like me, she’s a mum too.
EMIRATES OF EXCITEMENT
When I visit Dubai I love to go waterskiing, zipping past the amazing skyline. Places like The Dubai Mall are favourites – there’s everything you desire from the world’s big cities. My kids love going to Atlantis The Palm.
We have a ballet bar at home and as I used to practise ballet since I was a kid, I find it’s the best way to keep fit. I dance to classical music – it’s such a relaxing exercise.
I’ve loved fashion all my life. I remember flicking through Vogue when I was eight, enthralled by great photos, editorials and models. I loved Lauren Hutton and Jane Birkin, which is why my collections have a 1970s influence. After working for 13 years as a telecom engineer, I didn’t like what I was doing. So I decided to start designing clothes for my daughters and myself. Soon my friends started asking for my pieces. Creating my own brand has always been a dream, so I did it.
SCORE A SCENT
I’ve used Guerlain’s Samsara perfume for the past 20 years! I can’t use any other. I’m obsessed with how amazing it is.
