So you can’t make it to Santorini for that big fat Greek holiday this year?

Fret not – two new weekend events inspired by the glorious island of Santorini are set to take over Abu Dhabi: Al Dana Weekend and Reem Weekend take place on Al Dana Island from April 13-14, and Reem Island’s new canal from April 20-22 (from 5-11pm).

The waterfront festivals are said to be inspired by the Greek island’s holiday atmosphere and will include everything you want to check off your vacation list – shopping, food, entertainment and adventure – in the form of a pop-up market featuring vintage goods, fashion and arts and crafts; street performances; live mural painting; organic food trucks, and adventure sports like wall-climbing and trampolining. A dedicated children’s play area in the beach will host kids’ yoga sessions and games.

Keep an eye out for the on-site competitions that will run throughout both weekends – there’s plenty of prizes up for grabs.

The events are an initiative by real estate developer Aldar Properties to showcase their residential waterside communities, but if you don’t live there, it’s ok: There’s free entry for all.
