Heartbreaking news for all The Ivy diners: The classic British restaurant at Emirates Towers Boulevard in Dubai is serving its last meal on New Year’s Eve.

The closure comes after five years, and is due to the non-renewal of the site’s lease at Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

This is the second restaurant announced to be closed at Emirates Towers Boulevard in the space of one week. Last week, Harry Ghatto’s closed its doors as part of Jumeirah Restaurant Group’s new plans for the area.

Not everything there is closing: A spokesperson for Hakkasan told Friday the upmarket Chinese restaurant is staying open.

The Ivy restaurant has festive packages for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, as well as The Ivy at Home, a turkey takeaway service. The Last Night of The Ivy bash is a four course New Year’s Eve set menu from 6-11pm, with a performance by Ciaran Fox from 8pm. Prices start from Dh899.

Diners can also enjoy The Ivy Classics Menu. The Dh200 set menu features a three course meal that includes dishes such as The Ivy shepherd’s pie and Scandinavian iced berries with hot white chocolate sauce.
