Ramada Hotel in Bur Dubai to shut down

Landmark building to make way for 180-room five-star hotel, shopping mall and residences

DUBAI: The landmark Ramada Hotel in Bur Dubai, one of the oldest hotels in the city, is closing down in August this year, to make way for a mixed-use development.

Abdellah Essonni, CEO of Abjar Hotels International, which manages the 33-year-old hotel, told XPRESS the decision to shut its operations has not been easy.
