Rogue One: A Star Wars Story to close Dubai International Film Festival 2016

The film festival will kick off with Jessica Chastain starrer Miss Sloane, a political thriller, on December 7

Closing the film festival on a high note will be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story with a premiere on December 14 at Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF), a day before its general release across the UAE.

One of the most anticipated films of the year, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the eighth film set in the Star Wars franchise and the first of an anthology of Star Wars standalone films.

The story revolves around a group of Rebel spies coming together to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s vital weapon of destruction. It stars Felicity Jones, Mads Mikkelsen and Forest Whitaker and is directed by Gareth Edwards.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which released last year, was partly shot in Abu Dhabi.
