Time to activate your lightsabers – May the fourth, the unofficial celebration of the Star Wars series is just around the corner and there’s some cool events fans can participate in; cosplay is encouraged, so go dressed in your best costumes. At the Toy Store, Mall of the Emirates, Lego-certified professionals will teach wannabe Luke Skywalkers how to create an X-Wing spaceship out of LEGO blocks. The workshops run on May 4 at 5pm and 8pm; May 5 and 6 at 3pm and 6pm.

There’s a Star Wars book reading event for children at Borders, Dubai Festival City on May 4 and 5. Excerpts from the Star Wars books will be read out and each child attending can take home a free book, and goodies.

Both the Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Festival City events are free to enter and no prior booking is required – all this without the use of Jedi mind tricks.
