If you own a Tesla car, you can now charge it for free at three Dubai hotels – Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort, Dukes Dubai on Palm Jumeirah and at the Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate.
The hotels, which are owned by Seven Tides group, have had Tesla’s Destination Charging connectors installed at each of their entrances so Tesla-driving denizens can simply drive in and juice up their eco-friendly electric rides for a wallet-friendly rate of nothing.
The initiative says Abdulla Bin Sulayem, CEO of Seven Tides is to ‘…reduce our carbon footprint and help others to do the same. So to promote a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and transition to alternate transport solutions, we are happy to offer these charging stations across our properties for free.’
The chargers are a step towards helping Dubai go green and reach the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, which aims to make the city a more sustainable economy by providing 7 per cent of the emirate’s total energy output from clean resources by 2020 and 75 per cent by 2050.
There are several Destination Charger locations in the UAE – 18 are in Dubai, six in Abu Dhabi and one is in Ras al Khaimah.
