Spring is in the air as is the faint whiff of chocolate. Easter is just around the corner – April 16, to be precise – just enough time to decide where you want to feast on all things sweet and chocolate and then work off those calories at egg hunts. Time to get egg-cited!

The St. Regis Abu Dhabi is celebrating Easter all weekend long with exquisite chocolate experiences. The six events have been created in collaboration with Weiss Chocolate and chocolate chef Andy Van den Broeck, and includes an afternoon ‘chocola-tea’ from April 13-17, a sushi and steak chocolate special on April 13, Easter Brunch on April 14 and April 16 (Easter Sunday itself) and children’s egg painting on April 15. Call 02 694 4553.

The Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai, is hosting its Eggster brunch on April 14 with an egg hunt, a buffet, face painting and music. From 12-4pm; Dh225 per adult and Dh115 per child. Call 04 360 7935.

On April 14, Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara in Abu Dhabi has a buffet featuring spring’s bounties such as roasted lamb and plenty of chocolate bunnies for kids (and adults – we won’t judge) to munch on. Little ones can also enjoy an egg hunt and face painting. 12.30-4pm, from Dh260 per person. Call 02 895 8700.

The UAE is one of the few places with the weather for a pleasant beachside Easter, and Nasimi Beach at Atlantis, The Palm Dubai is making the most of it with their Extravagant Easter BBQ on April 16. Hop to the food stations, then bop to the live music by the resident DJ. From 1-5pm; Dh195 per person. Call 04 426 2626.

Now here’s a treasure hunt that would have Indiana Jones eggcited – the Eggventure Hunt at Atlantis, The Palm on April 15 will see participants glide down the Torrent river at Aquaventure Waterpark and seek out 50,000 floating eggs. Then swap your eggs at the Candy Eggschange for Easter candy and other prizes. From 9am, entry to the park is Dh195 for adults and Dh170 for children.

Sofitel Dubai Downtown is also taking it outdoors, by the pool, with an outdoor Easter brunch on April 14. Street food from China, Mexico, Italy and the USA will be served, and whoever finds the golden egg during the egg hunt will win a lunch for two adults and two children at the newly opened Lebanese-Armenian restaurant Al Mayass. 1-4pm; from Dh150 per person. Call 04 503 6111.

Flavours restaurant at Sheraton Abu Dhabi has an Easter brunch planned on April 14 (12.30-3.30pm; Dh200) and another one on Easter Sunday (7-11pm; Dh165). On April 15, the hotel is hosting its Bunnyville event at the beach area – kids can decorate eggs, participate in egg hunts, watch classic kids’ films, and cuddle bunnies and lambs at the petting zoo. A life-size Easter bunny will also meet and greet each child. From 4–8pm; Dh115 per child and Dh95 per adult. Call 02 677 3333.

Bored of brunches? Raffles Dubai’s Easter collection fashion afternoon tea at mixes things up. From April 7-16 the hotel’s salon serves savoury treats with a selection of Easter cakes and pastries including lemon tart, chocolate nest with marshmallow, and cake pop bunny ‘blusher’. From 2-7pm; Dh249 for two people. Call 04 324 8888.

Byzantium Lounge at Taj Dubai is hosting an Easter kids party on April 16. Tots aged 2-8 years can participate in the Easter egg hunt and egg decorating workshop. But it’s the children-only doll’s tea party with mini sandwiches and pastries that has us wishing we were kids, too. Adults can enjoy the Easter-inspired afternoon tea. Dh199 for adults and Dh49 for children; from 4-7pm. Call 04 438 3136.

Family is first at La Familia brunch at El Chiringuito, Rixos The Palm. On April 15 the restaurant will be serving Easter-inspired goodies, games, and an egg hunt for kids. From Dh395 per person. 12-4pm; call 04 277 9180
