Marks and Spencer has announced that it will open its first standalone food hall in Dubai Marina, and we are seriously excited!
Patrick Bousquet-Chavanne, M&S’ executive director said the brand ‘will be opening in the next few weeks a standalone food store in the Marina in Dubai.’
Speaking to Dubai-based radio station Dubai Eye on Thursday morning, he added that the store ‘will have access to a much wider catalogue’.
While there’s no confirmation of what exactly will be on offer in the store, we are hoping for an extended selection of fresh food and healthy eating options, which is something the current store offerings only have a small selection of. We are already planning our dine-for-two meals and picnics on the beach.
Marks & Spencer currently has food stores in Dubai Festival City (which also includes the M&S Café), Ibn Batutta Mall, Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, where these are all part of larger stores. This transition into a standalone food store is the first of a bigger plan for Marks & Spencer over the next few years.
Bousquet-Chavanne also discussed plans to expand Marks & Spencer’s online capabilities. While UAE customers can currently order a limited selection of clothing and homewares delivered from the UK, Bousquet-Chavanne also talked about launching a Middle East website in the near future. This will deliver clothing, homewares and eventually food to your home or workplace. He ‘would like it to happen over the next twelve months.’
We have our fingers crossed it will.
