If you love Davines haircare products - what with their cult following, committment to the environment and great product names (Oil Non Oil For Wizards, anyone?) - then you'll want to catch up with the Italian brand's Andreea Ion, who shared the latest on the brand on a recent trip to Dubai.
What hair trends do you love for this season?
This year’s fashion trends are centred around ‘dramatic’ simplicity, highlighting the original beauty of the woman and her hair. The major colour trends we love for fall 2017 are around smoky browns, warm blondes and icy platinum.
What’s the one hair product you personally can’t live without?
I never leave home without Davines OI/OIL (Dh150) and Your Hair Assistant Volume Creator – I love it for creating perfect volume in an instant with structure and consistency, plus protecting from humidity when I blow-dry.
What’s your top tip for creating salon-worthy hair at home?
My main tip might sound funny but I really mean it: Ask your hairdresser - and listen to them. They know your hair best and would recommend the right tools and products for you to be able to recreate at home your salon look, while keeping your hair healthy. Don’t be afraid to invest in professional tools and products for at-home use: the major difference is that salon products last longer and contain higher amounts of quality ingredients that truly are better for your hair - they have much more of the necessary vitamins and proteins your hair needs to maintain and restore its health. (Ever wondered if a pricey shampoo really makes a difference? So did we. )
What new products can we expect to see from Davines in the next year?
At the beginning of next year, you’ll see the Your Hair Assistant line, conceived and designed by Angelo Seminara, Davines’ artistic director. It’s a fusion of well-being and styling products, to allow the creation of state-of-the-art blow-dries, both in the salon and at home.
