Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty is a month away
Mark September 8 in your calendar (and get yourself on the waitlist now at Fentybeauty.com): Rihanna’s debut beauty collection goes on sale on that date globally – and that includes the UAE!
We’ve had it confirmed by Sephora locally that they will be stocking the singer’s products from the launch date; Harvey Nichols is also tipped to be a worldwide stockist, although we haven’t had confirmation locally. The world was first tipped off to Riri’s plans for make-up domination back in 2014, when she registered the name, but with all her music and film projects, plus the small matter of her bestselling Fenty x Puma range, it’s taken this long to come to fruition. Details on the range are under the radar for the moment, although we know that Rihanna wore her own products on the red carpet for the Valerian premiere, and at a Fenty x Puma event in April. What to expect, in one word? Radiance.
Changing your pedicure
If you love Baby Foot, you need to check out the innovative six-step pedicure from Elim, a South African spa brand that’s just arrived in the UAE. Instead of the usual foot filing to get rid of annoying skin build-up on heels, they’ve developed a chemical process to remove calluses; meanwhile the AHA Exfoliator replaces a foot scrub, while it cleanses, removes cuticle build-up, and has anti-ageing properties. We like the Heel Balm, (Dh112), a gel product that transforms into a powder (great for hot and sticky weather, then) but hydrates with vitamins, shea butter, urea and honey. The finishing touch is the Dolce & Gabbana-scented Gold Spritz (Dh126). The full in-salon treatment is Dh250, at Bedashing and Joe Raad outlets.
Zoe goes global
Zoe Kravitz just got a job promotion. Having been an ambassador for YSL Beaute in the US since spring, she’s obviously knocked it out of the park because the French brand has now named her global make-up ambassador. Congrats, Zoe! We can totally see why – her beauty game is the perfect fit for YSL: On point, with a rock’n’roll edge. (Or as the brand described itself in the announcement, ‘inventive, defiant and stylish’.) The Big Little Lies actress is going to be the face of a new line launching this month called Tatouage Couture, a longlasting matte lipstick with a precise, slanted applicator (there’s a lip pencil in the range, too).
The scent of a wedding
Here’s a UAE wedding tradition that we can see going global: A perfumery table. This beautiful concept gives guests the chance to sample fragrances and makes sure everyone’s smelling as sweet as the love that’s all around (aww...). We first learned about it from Lootah, a UAE-based perfumer that provides the service, setting up the table with a variety of oud-based perfumes – a pretty luxe touch to any union.
