Beauty by Madonna

You might not know this, but pop queen Madonna has had a skincare range for a while. The line, MDNA – which was also the name of Madonna’s last album – has only been available in Japan and Hong Kong since its launch in 2014, but the singer is now taking it worldwide.

Madge announced plans to develop her range at a party in New York just last week.

The skincare products are made using a ‘secret’ ingredient from Italy that is exclusive to the brand. The current collection features masks, serums, and creams which, according to MDNA’s website, are made with formulas that are “based around ‘bacteriologically pure’ thermal waters from the Tuscan spa town of Montecatini, which are exclusive to the brand and ‘perfectly compatible with the organic liquids of the human body”.

Currently the brand is only available to buy at but can be delivered to the UAE and there are plans to expand to the Middle East.

Cruelty-free beauty

Want to visit a vegan and cruelty-free salon? Now you can. The recently opened Organic Glow Beauty Lounge is offering beauty treatments using only non-toxic and cruelty-free products. All the products used are also safe for pregnant women. “I believe that we can make ourselves beautiful and indulge in our shampoos, colours and polishes, while also doing our part for our planet,” says the salon’s founder, Leena Al Abbas. Brands used in the salon include Zoya nail polish, Alterna haircare and Human + Kind skin products. The salon, at Oudah Tower, Street 13, District 14, Jumeirah Village Circle 1, offers hair, skin and beauty treatments. Prices from Dhxx

Armani’s Cushion

I love the new My Armani To Go Cushion by Giorgio Armani. This travel-friendly make-up compact is designed for busy women who need to touch up their make-up on the go (something many of us are familiar with). The foundation compact features a lightweight cream the will iron out imperfections in the skin, so it’s perfect for carrying in your handbag. Dh300, available at beauty counters nationwide.

Louboutin luxury

Christian Louboutin has opened its first UAE beauty counter at Bloomingdale’s Dubai. Located right in front of the store entrance, the boudoir-style counter stocks the brand’s full range including nail colour, lip colour and fragrance. The counter is designed to mimic a luxury jewellery counter with products displayed in velvet trays and necklace busts. Shoppers can also try out products as well as purchasing customised gift boxes including the products of their choice.

Aveda takes care of your scalp

Many of us spend a lot of time and money on products for our hair but we completely neglect our scalps. Aveda’s new Pramasana Collection is an all-natural range of products designed to combat problems we have with our scalps, ultimately helping us to have healthy, luscious locks. The range includes an exfoliating scalp brush (Dh107), a protective scalp concentrate (Dh200) and purifying scalp cleanser (Dh160). There’s also an in-salon nourishing scalp masque, available by appointment at Aveda salons in Dubai, at The Galleria Mall and inside Bloomingdale’s, The Dubai Mall.

MAC concealer launch

MAC is launching a concealer version of its Waterweight Foundation and beauty insiders are going crazy for it. The foundation is one of the brand’s biggest selling products so it’s likely the concealer will follow the same formula. The product was unveiled by MAC’s global senior artist Dominic Skinner on his Instagram account. So far, there is no confirmation of when the concealer will launch in UAE stores but as soon as we hear you will be the first to know.
