Michael Kors, which now owns Jimmy Choo and Kate Spade, as well as its own-named brand, has announced plans to go completely fur-free from 2018. The fashion powerhouse follows in the footsteps of brands including Gucci, Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, who have all stopped using real animal fur for their products. Michael Kors has previously sent models down the runway in luxurious fur coats so this is a big turning point for the brand.

‘Due to technological advances in fabrications, we now have the ability to create a luxe aesthetic using non-animal fur; we will showcase these new techniques in our upcoming runway show in February,’ Kors said in a statement – we can’t wait to see what it looks like.
