With the mercury falling, the festive season picking up and restrictions on socialising easing, UAE’s event and exhibition scene is heating up too. On top of everyone’s itinerary is the premier lifestyle show DIVAlicious, which not only offers a wide collection of festive wear but a range of fashion accessories, home décor, gifting ideas as well as edibles too. The co-founder of DIVAlicious, Vanitaa Bhatia, offers a sneak preview of what to expect at this year’s show.

What are the new trends we will see in festive wear this year?

While sarees in bright colours and flared pants with embroidered tunics are very popular this year, what is unique this year is the fact that designers have made a conscious effort to create a line that is stunning yet affordable.

What are the highlights of the current edition of the DIVAlicious show?

Due to social distancing norms, this time the number of stalls has been limited to 55 only, while earlier it would be around 90. But that does not mean that there is a compromise on quality and range. As mentioned earlier, the biggest highlight of this year’s show is the fact that luxury designers have ensured that their collection is not exorbitant. Payal Singhal is an example, who has created a festive range that does not exceed Dh600.

What’s more, Aroushi Salon and Spa is offering a complimentary foot massage in the waiting area, where shoppers can order themselves a coffee as well.

What about Covid-related protocol?

Apart from ensuring there is at least 2m distance between exhibitors, temperature check at entry and hand sanitizers at every stall, the entire exhibition will be disinfected at the end of every day of the show. Keeping the social distancing protocols in mind, no more than two shoppers will be allowed at each stall at any given point of time. Also, the entry and exit areas are separate as well.
