Calling brides-to-be…

Topshop will release a range of affordable wedding and bridesmaid dresses, as well as accessories and lingerie, later this year. While little has been revealed about the collection so far, prices are expected to start at around Dh1,600 for wedding gowns and Dh350 for bridesmaid dresses – perfect for those who want something left over for the new home or honeymoon! The collection will launch in April in stores and online.

Go Mango!

Mango has launched an Arabic edition of its e-commerce site for Middle Eastern customers – one of the Spanish brand’s key markets, accounting for more than 7 per cent of sales. It has also developed a new payment method – which involves storing credit within a virtual purse that can be accessed from any device – after noticing many regional customers prefer to use alternative methods to credit cards. Sandro and Maje’s Dubai collections

Their stores are always in the same street, and right now it looks like Dubai is right up sister-designers Judith Milgrom (Maje) and Evelyne Chetrite (Sandro) street. Both of their labels have launched UAE-exclusive collections this month. Sandro’s UAE range was inspired by peacocks and features lace, embroidery and star motifs on alimited edition selection of dresses, tops and skirts that won’t be available anywhere else in the world. Prices start at Dh890, available at Sandro stores nationwide. Maje’s pieces — a dress, jacket and skirt — are also peacock-inspired but are far more exclusive, landing in the Dubai Mall store only, from February 5, priced from Dh850.

That’s the number of UAE-based designers showing their collections at London Fashion Week later this month. Azzalia and Deborah Henning will present at the Fashion Scout catwalk, which has previously featured the likes of Peter Pilotto and David Koma. This is big news, not only for the designers, but also for getting UAE brands in the international market. The showcase is sponsored by Dubai Design and Fashion Council and Dubai’s FAD Fashion College.
