New York Fashion Week update – here’s what you might have missed…

Alexander Wang’s latest outing was so much more than just a catwalk show. After bringing guests including Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner to a secret Warehouse location, WANGFEST featured a live rock band, a wild after party, and dozens of supermodel ‘IT’ girls on the runway including Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid and Suki Waterhouse.

Rihanna gets wheels

Aside from launching her own beauty range, Riri presented her latest collection from her range FENTY X PUMA show in New York by sending an army of men on motocross bikes along the catwalk. They proceeded to flip and fly around the venue on their bikes before the show finale featured the pop princess herself riding on the back of a bike of her own!

Mini me model

Cindy Crawford’s daughter Kaia Gerber has already been making waves in the fashion world. With her almost identical looks to her mother the 16-year-old beauty has already landed herself modelling campaigns and magazine covers. But, this NYFW she took things to another level as she walked the runways at some of the top fashion shows including Coach, Calvin Klein and Alexander Wang. I expect we’ll be seeing a lot more of this teen in the future.

Haute hijab

The Indonesian Diversity show kicked off New York Fashion Week by bringing hijabs to the runway. The show saw five upcoming Indonesian designers showing their designs – two of them presented outfits with models wearing hijabs. While designer Dian Pelangi put a modern twist on classic styles, Vivi Zubedi presented a collection of colourful modest designs with traditional embroidery.
