How to make campfire bread
Fresh bread is everybody’s favourite – and whirling it around a stick is half the fun!
1½ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
¾ cup milk
In a bowl, combine the dry ingredients. Add milk, and mix well until you have a thick dough.
Place the dough in a container, and bring a small bag of flour with you.
At the camp site, divide the dough to 4 pieces. With floured hands, roll the pieces into 20cm-long pieces. Coil each piece around a stick in a spiral form.
Leave some space between the whirls.
Cook the bread moderately close to the heat. Turn the stick regularly. Cooking takes about 10–15 minutes total.
Eat hot and fresh with butter, or as a side for soup.
