Lamb burgers

  • 8 burger rolls, halved 

    Lettuce, cucumber, cream cheese slices, to serve

    For the patties

    500g lean lamb mince

    1 large onion, chopped

    2 garlic cloves, crushed

    6 tbsp chopped mint

    6 tbsp chopped coriander

    1 tsp paprika

    1 tsp dried chillies

    2 tsp ground cumin

    250ml fresh breadcrumbs

    1 egg, beaten


  • Preheat the oven to 180°C. To make the patties, in a large bowl mix together the lamb, onion, garlic, herbs and spices.

    Add the breadcrumbs and egg and mix. Shape into 8 patties and chill for 20 minutes.

    Heat a pan until smoking hot and cook the patties for 1-2 minutes or until slightly charred. Transfer to a baking sheet and roast until just done but still slightly pink inside.

    Set aside to cool slightly then put in buns with accompaniments.
