Steak and onion pizza

  • 1 large square pizza base

    80ml tomato sauce

    500g beef strips

    80ml meat marinade

    4 tbsp chutney

    3 tbsp oil

    3 onions, sliced lengthwise

    4 garlic cloves, crushed

    1 1/2 cups grated mozzarella cheese

    1/2 cup piquanté peppers (Peppadews)

    Salt and pepper


  • Preheat oven to 240°C and sprinkle a baking sheet with flour.

    Spread tomato sauce evenly on dough. Place beef strips in a flat dish, season with salt and pepper and pour marinade and chutney over. Marinate for 15 minutes in fridge.

    Heat oil and fry meat in batches until done. Remove and set aside.

    Add onions and garlic to same pan and sauté on low heat for 6 minutes or until onion is soft but not brown.

    Sprinkle meat and onion mixture on to pizza base and scatter with piquanté peppers. Sprinkle with cheese and bake for 12-15 mins or until done.
