If you are concerned about your hair fall or baldness issues, scents could be a solution to prompt the hair growth. According to latest research, certain chemicals in fragrances can trigger hair growth in just six days. Sandalwood scent has been found to be particularly effective. German scientists found that sandalore — a chemical often used in perfumes and soaps — releases a receptor in the outer layer of hair follicles called OR2AT4 that can slow down the death of hair cells. Researchers found that applying a synthetic sandalwood odorant to the scalp tissue could lead to an increase hair growth as well.

Scientists at Manchester University are hoping to take their findings to a clinic to try to develop a product that can help prevent hair loss.
