Q: Can my gallstone of 13mm be dissolved by Ayurvedic medicine?
Our gallbladder stores the digestive fluid – bile from the liver before it is released into our small intestine. Gallstones are hardened deposits of bile fluid that can form in your gallbladder. Gallstones range in size from a sand grain to as large as a golf ball. Some people develop just one gallstone, while others may develop many gallstones at the same time.
Gallstones often cause no symptoms and require no treatment.
Some people with gallstones will have a gallbladder attack that can cause symptoms such as nausea and an intense, steady ache in the upper middle or upper right abdomen, and jaundice.
If you have any of these symptoms, you need to meet a surgeon without delay.
Gallbladder stones without any symptoms may be treated conservatively with regular follow-ups. Non-surgical options for gallstones are useful on small cholesterol stones.
There are a few Ayurveda preparations that can help to dissolve the cholesterol stones over a period of time.
