With Ramadan here I am planning to redo part of my apartment and get it ready for Eid. I am planning to have guests over, so I’d appreciate if you can offer a few suggestions on how to make my place reflect the season’s cheer.
Eid is a special time in your life to strengthen the bond you share with your loved ones. It is also a time to beautify your home and shower it with love and care.
This is the time when many structures in and around the city are decorated with dazzling lights reflecting festive nights. Taking a leaf from there, you can consider going for a mix of LED strings for your outdoor seating area. For the balustrade, I suggest tea light candles with lovely elegant Turkish lamps to take pride of place in special corners.
Bright rugs, cushions and wall art can also be used tastefully to create a warm and inviting feel.
Food is a vital part of the Eid celebrations and in keeping with that it is important that your dining area has some elements of festive cheer. To elevate your table to the next level, place a nice centrepiece and a vase of fresh flowers on the dining table.
Ensure your dining space and your crockery make an impression on guests.
Ceramic and glass platters in tasteful designs are a welcome edition. It’s a good idea to keep your crockery colour coordinated. Another idea would be to try to match your crockery with the tablemats.
To add the icing on the cake, opt for delicate dessert plates and spoons; they can create a lovely impact.
