Imagination has a certain purity for it is neither stained by authoritarian thought nor by sceptic judgement. It cannot be stenciled and it definitely cannot be stifled. It is that force that relentlessly drives our progress and shapes our beliefs – the only tenet we need to build our future.

In the words of Carl Sagan, the legendary astronomer and author, "Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere." It fuels our passion to create and carves our legacy – it is the wind under our wings.

But imagination has no meaning if it is not nurtured in an environment that encourages. Whether it is through technology or through teaching, it is vital that we invest in an ecosystem that not only enables our young to chisel their imagination and take bold steps towards innovation but fosters a fearless, positive attitude. An attitude that is thirsty for knowledge, empathetic towards the society they inhabit and, most importantly, is free of prejudice.

The kids in our cover story (read our interviews) are proof of what is possible when our young are provided with the right tools and skills to direct their rich imagination, and are allowed to experiment without the fear of rejection, in case of failure.

The outcome is exponentially beneficial, if not inspiring enough for generations to come.

Here’s wishing Godspeed to all those who return to school...
