Please elaborate on Wahl’s century-old legacy. What are some of its major milestones?

At Wahl, one of our greatest assets is our heritage. From designing, manufacturing and patenting the first electric hair clipper in the world, we have grown from strength to strength over the last 100 years. In the last decade, specifically, we undertook a strategic global expansion while never losing focus of our hallmark innovation and quality excellence. Thanks to this, we have been enjoying fast-tracked, sustainable growth from 2012 onwards, and today we are market leaders in most GCC countries.

What are some of your best grooming tools?

That’s a tough one! Our current favourite is the limited-edition Wahl Magic Clip, a sleek, professional-grade hair clipper that we reimagined in an all-metal timeless design to commemorate and celebrate 100 years of Wahl. The high-precision blade and powerful battery have made it a cult favourite. Another favourite is the Wahl Cordless Detailer, another timeless tool that helps barbers achieve precise styles with unmatched efficiency. Both of these tools have been game-changers in the professional grooming industry.

You have expanded your range to include personal care products. Tell us more about them.

Wahl’s personal care range is a great choice for those who are looking for easy-to-use yet powerful grooming products. The range has taken off incredibly over the last few months as lockdowns were in place. It features extensive product options that cater to diverse styling needs. We even have a gentle clipper that is made especially for children and people with sensitive skin. Just like we do for our professional range, we are continuously innovating new products based on our customer’s evolving needs.

What are your plans for UAE?

The UAE is an exciting market, always growing and offering up new opportunities. A Wahl Grooming Academy is in the pipeline, where barbers and stylists will be taught soft skills and new techniques.

We are working on a number of initiatives that aim to uplift and upskill the barber community here, as we have done in the UK and US. Our programmes have taken off spectacularly in these markets and we hope to bring the same excitement and empowerment to the professional workforce here.
