The UAE’s done it again – the world’s longest and highest zip line that will open at Jebel Jais, Ras Al Khaimah in the first week of December will add to the nation’s long list of superlative architectural wonders and Guinness World Record.
While details on the exact measurements of this new zip line are under wraps, we’ve been told that it will outdo The Monster in Puerto Rico that’s currently the world’s longest zip line at 2,200 metres.
Wondering how long that is? It’s longer than 28 soccer fields.
The project that’s a partnership between Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and Toro Verde, the world’s leading zip line operator (who also developed The Monster) will follow the emirate’s trend of eco-tourism using solar energy and locally-sourced natural materials that will allow visitors to soak in the natural views of the craggy mountainous landscape.
The zip line is Jebel Jais’ newest tourist attraction – last year the launch of the Jebel Jais Via Ferrata saw the UAE’s highest peak become a major tourism hub.
The project will feature a Welcome Centre with a lounge, restaurant, lockers, equipment storage and offices; it’s here that participants will be given a pre-briefing before being escorted to the launch platform. The zip line will be open to all ages, providing participants meet required minimum weight of 35kg and maximum weight of 150kg, and a minimum height of 120cm.
The Jebel Jais zip line offers more impressive numbers than just its sheer length – in its first phase of operations, the zip line will be able to accommodate 250 people a day; that’s 100,000 in a year.
In addition to private parking and the option to fast track their zip line flight you can also enjoy the adventure of a lifetime with a VIP twist – guests can opt for a helicopter transfer Ras Al Khaimah’s pristine coast line to the Al Hajar Mountains enjoy the sights and scenes as they do so.
