April 12 starts off at MusicHall with GCC-based multimedia artist Zahed Sultan’s Hiwar, an audio-visual performance film documenting an exploration of musical heritage that investigates traditional pearl-diving music of the Gulf and modern trends local music.
The Black Madonna will be performing on April 13 at On42 at the Media One Hotel. The anti-establishment DJ will also be joined by Moodymann, a techno/house electronic music creator, as well as Siamak Amidi and Shemroon of Analog Room fame.
Also on April 13 at the Steigenberger Hotel in Business Bay, guests can enjoy Axel Boman’s music, a live show by DeWalta & Shannon, South Korean kinetic house music creations by Peggy Gou, as well as DJ Kode9, ikonika, DJ Earl, and local artist, Esserai from 264 Cru.
April 14 will begin early at 6am with a Sunrise Session on Kite Beach, a meditation will be led by Pierre Ravan, a ‘Heartfulness Meditation’ trainer. This will be followed by music by Julianna Barwick, which has experimental, ambient and folk music qualities. A lecture by Axel Boman will be hosted at The Flipside between 2pm and 4pm for those in the mood for some musical discourse and debate.
In Dubai Design District (d3) on April 14, Californian hip-hop recording artist, Earl Sweatshirt, will be performing, along with Danny Brown, Princess Nokia, and Jessy Lanza, Knxwledge, as well as Dubai-based band Muhaisnah Four, and Tunisian beat-smith, Aeli.
On the final night on April 15, Danny Krivit will be performing at Tap House in Club Vista Mare at The Palm. He will be joined by András, an Australian electronica artist, broken beat, and nu-jazz producer Volcov. Wrapping up the night will be Dubai’s Megadon Betamax, and James Locksmith.
A photograph exhibition called ‘Beyond the Noise’ will be hosted at d3, where guests can look at intimate and gritty portraits of artists from around the globe, starting from April 7th.
