DJ Hardwell is in the house

Here’s how you close 2017 with a bang. Hardwell, considered to be the world’s number one electronic DJ, will make his debut appearance at Nasimi Beach on December 28 to headline the Live@Atlantis concert series. The 23rd edition of Dubai Shopping Festival starts in four days! Apart from fantastic shopping deals for those in need of some pre-VAT retail therapy, the event is packed with entertainment shows and performances as well. Kick-starting the calendar is Amr Diab of Tamally Ma’ak fame. The superstar of Arabic music, who has become a global phenomenon, will be performing on December 29 at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre. From street performances and stage shows to food trucks and activity zones featuring Mansour, the ever-so popular cartoon character, and Lego, the three-day calendar is packed with fun activities and memorable experiences. Mubadala World Tennis Championship

Tennis star and world number one Rafael Nadal and a host of other tennis bigwigs such as 12-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic, three-time Grand Slam winner Stan Wawrinka and world number five Dominic Thiem will be at the same venue for the 10th edition of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship from December 28-30. Apart from exchanging lobs on court and competing for the grand prize of US $250,000, the stars will get up, close and personal with their fans as they take part in practice sessions, tennis clinics and sign autographs for fans. You don’t have to fetch your passport for a magical winter wonderland experience. Just drive to Riverland Dubai to be a part of Festive on the River event, complete with a dusting of snow, twinkling lights and a special visit from Santa Claus and his elves. The highlight is the two trampolines that make perfect launchpads into the water. The event will also feature unique ‘Splash Mob’ shows and a ‘Splash Squad’. The event ends on January 6. Dubai Shopping Festival celebrations at The Beach

It’s that time of the year again when Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) returns to the city. The annual shopping extravaganza, which is in its 23rd edition, not only boasts of sales and prizes but also offers cultural and entertainment programmes at various locations such as Al Seef Street, Jumeirah Beach Residences, City Walk and Global Village.

At The Beach, there will be shopping deals at many different stores including GapFit, L’Occitane En Provence, Glassing, and Muji. You can also expect rewards and offers from different restaurants. 

Plus, visitors will be treated to firework displays and entertainment in the form of street performers such as plater spinners, LED butterflies, African drummers, carnival stilt walkers and ball bouncers. 

Firework displays will take place every Thursday and Friday. Roaming entertainment from 4pm to 10.30pm, every Thursday and Friday. From December 26 to January 27.
