Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama is performing at a free concert on December 8 at Dragon Mart 2. The former Arab Idol and X Factor judge has collaborated with Shakira and is known for his hit Aan Jad. From 7-9pm; free entry for all.

A Classical Winter Wonderland concert


We’re not sure about the hills, but Ductac comes alive on December 11 with the Emirates Youth Symphony Orchestra’s A Classical Winter Wonderland concert. Festive tunes such as Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite and Mozart’s A Little Night Music as well as soundtracks from your favourite Christmas flicks. Tickets from Dh75 at; from 7pm.

World Voices 2017

If it’s carolling you’re after then head to the World Voices 2017 at The Junction on December 8. Three Dubai-based choir groups representing three different nationalities will come-a-wassailing at the event – Dubai Camerata Singers’ Filipino crooners, Avega Dance Creations’ Indian performers and The Italian Band’s musicians will sing in their languages. Tickets cost Dh75 at; show starts at 7pm.


Swedish dance music duo Axwell and Ingrosso

Electronic music festival Creamfields is on at the du Arena on Yas Island on December 8. Swedish dance music duo Axwell and Ingrosso and Canadian music producer deadmau5 headline along with English trance music group Above & Beyond. The international acts will be backed by local artists such as DJ maDJam, and electronic bands Hollaphonic and Arcade 82. The eight-hour-long festival starts at 7pm; tickets from Dh250 at

Fiesta Musica

Zero Gravity’s brand new beach music festival, Fiesta Musica, is on this weekend. On December 8, the Ibiza House Orchestra headlines along with American DJ Throttle, known for tracks like Hit The Road Jack. There’s also a sports area where festival-goers can paddle board and play beach volley ball and racket ball; artsy types can enjoy the arts and crafts corner. Entry costs Dh150 per person on December 8, including beach and pool access, and Dh225 for women and Dh275 for men on December 9; weekend pass that includes entrance to all three days costs Dh400.
