How often have you heard these adjectives attached to the infamous word 'millennial'? Lazy, unfocused, tech-obsessed, uninspired…Our bet is that you’ve heard (or even been called!) one of these in the past. Get Lit is here to show you the brighter side of this young generation, using art as a way to capture the voices of the future.
This exhibition, hosted by Gallery 76, is open from June 20 to 28. It features the work of 22 artists and photographers—and includes the work of Taur Kaur Siali, who is their youngest artist at the age of just 2 and a half years old! Need more reasons to go? Do it for the spoken word, because on opening night there will be poetry reading by Namal Siddiqui and a live performance by soulful singer Morries Mana.
This novel art exhibition was inspired by millennials, and aims to shed light on the creative and enterprising side of this much-maligned generation. Get Lit celebrates the misfits, the globetrotters, the creators and the ecowarriors in our community.
Venue: Gallery 76 at the Dubai International Art Centre, Street 75b, Villa No 27, Jumeirah Beach Road, Near Town Centre Mall and Behind Mercato Mall.
Timings: 7:00pm onwards
Exhibition dates: June 20-28
