Fitness goes free for the next few days as the Dubai Fitness Challenge rolls out at full speed across venues in the city.

Bay Avenue Mall: Clock in more cardio than your average mall trawls with their Fitness Fest, which lets you sign up for a series of free activities and events, such as yoga, zumba, body combat and boxing conducted by experts from Fitness First.

Cult Fit: The Indian fitness chain is the latest to join Dubai’s growing bandwagon of health and wellness venues and they believe in going big or going home. They’re offering over 50 free classes a day during Dubai 30 x 30, which means you’ll get to try 30-minute workouts of various formats like HIIT, boxing, strength and conditioning, yoga, dance fitness and the celebrity workout HRX by Hrithik Roshan. Habtoor Palace Dubai, LXR Hotels & Resorts: Limber up and release stress and negativity with the resort’s free Vinyasa Yoga class on November 9 from 9am-10am in the hotel’s lush gardens. Participants will also have the chance to win fitness-related prizes, including a voucher for

Fitness Village, Kite Beach: The beach turns into an alfresco gym again this year with around 300 free classes/sessions for all to join in. Choose from sunset yoga, boxing, martial arts and complete tough mudder and mini mudder obstacle courses.

Sustainable City: Starting today Sustainable City is hosting a community fitness hub for families and residents from across Dubai to engage in sports activities and classes such as horseback riding, aerobics, body attack, body combat, yoga, hip hop, and karate boot camps. What’s even better is, you can bring your pets with you too when you participate in Wild Workouts – a 30-minute walking or jogging exercise for families around the farm area.

Cinema Alfresco

Kite Beach has a pop-up cinema running until November 8 – all you’ve got to do to watch your favourite stars under a starry sky is spend Dh30 at the community beach. Today, animated-film fans can catch screenings of Moana and Despicable Me at 5pm and 8.30pm, respectively. Tomorrow, Potterheads, both old and young, should gather at the beach at 8.30pm for a screening of Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone. For more 90s nostalgia, there’s a 5pm screening of Toy Story 2.

Indian stand-up comics Abish Mathew and Rohan Joshi are set to spread some good humour on November 7 – they’re performing at RajMahal Theatre, Bollywood Parks Dubai as part of the Colors Comedy Night. The double bill ensures you’ll be in for a night of humour that’s both wholesome and edgy – Abish, known for his talk show Son of Abish, will bring with him his brand of clean humour while Rohan, one of the founding members of the comedy group AIB, will come in tow with his sarcasm-laced observational humour that takes the mick out of everyone and everything.
