A funny summer
Laugh summer out of the calendar with this line-up of comedy shows. The Laugh-A-Thon series stand-up comedy nights are continuing their port-side humour aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2. On August 23, comedian Abhishek Upamanyu will trigger waves of laughter with quick-witted takes on Indian culture and life.
Back on solid ground at the Bollywood Parks, another Indian comic, Daniel Fernandes, will steer the humour towards serious social issues with his comedy special Shadows on Friday. The hour-long show will see the Mumbai-based comic address mental health issues and promises to break the traditional rules of a stand-up show.
Comedian Sunil Grover’s wacky alter-ego Dr Mashoor Gulati will be prescribing some laugh-out-loud moments at the Comedy Clinic show on Saturday (August 17) at Shaikh Rashid Hall at Dubai World Trade Centre. Expect audience interaction, over-the-top singing and dancing. Tickets from Dh75 at platinumlist.net.
