‘Past, Borrowed’ is an exhibition in collaboration with Gulf Photo Plus, curated around the theme of Year of the 50th and UAE National Day. The exhibition features archival images, photographs, text, and audio works that highlight a social history shared between migrant communities to the UAE and their role in rooting its contemporary visual culture through the works of various UAE-born and based artists including Ammar Al Attar and Saleh Al Tamimi. Green Run

Pick up your trainers for the environmentally-friendly Green Run at Dubai Investments Park on January 15. Open to all ages and abilities, the race supports the Smart Dubai initiatives, which aim to make the city the smartest and happiest city while promoting a green economy at the same time. Participants can run, walk, jog, run, push a stroller or compete in a wheelchair for the race’s two distances – 3km or 5km. The run village opens at 5.30am, and there’ll be an awards ceremony after the race. All finishers will receive medals, and there’ll be prizes for the top three runners in each age category.
