Dreamscape Immersive, the location-based immersive virtual reality company, will launch its newest interactive experience MIB: First Assignment at Mall of the Emirates on January 27. Thanks to the creative minds at Dreamscape and Sony Pictures Virtual Reality (SPVR), Men in Black fans will suit up as agents, swap sunglasses for a VR headset, and step into a heart-pumping, alien-fighting adventure as they free-fly on intergalactic hoverbikes to save the planet from the extraterrestrial world. Advance tickets for the epic adventure go on sale on  14 January and can be purchased on dreamscapeimmersive.com. Guests are invited to journey to a wildlife refuge of intergalactic creatures in Alien Zoo; leap into a daring adventure to find the cursed treasure in Curse of the Lost: A Magic Projector Adventure or travel to the depths of the ocean in The Blu: Deep Rescue. January 21 marks the last day that guests can enjoy Alien Zoo, which will be replaced by MIB: First Assignment.

New menu at caya

caya, the Mediterranean homegrown eatery at Town Square Dubai Park, welcomes diners to experience its newly launched winter menu inspired by the warmth and festive flavours of the season. In its newly revamped restaurant located in the heart of Town Square Dubai Park, diners can relish themselves in the Mediterranean flavours of six new dishes and two new drinks from caya’s menu. An intimate venue with the option of al fresco dining, the new menu blends its Mediterranean menu with winter flavours such as cinnamon, cheese with honey, pickled apples, and more.

Some of caya’s new dishes include an Usmalia Feta, a kunafa and feta cheese combination served with thyme infused honey, fig relish, and caramelised fig over a bed of creamy labneh.

World of Illusions

If you still haven’t watched the spell-binding show of lights and 3D objects, World of Illusions, at Abu Dhabi’s Nation Towers Mall, then don’t lose heart as the show has now been extended until February 15. From a 3D space that aims to transport the spectators to endless galaxies, 3D immersive art object to, intriguing optical animals and a Video Booth where visitors can virtually travel to some of the world’s most picturesque destinations, the show guarantees loads of edutainment and fun for everyone. Louvre’s first in 2022

Louvre Abu Dhabi 's first international exhibition of this year, Versailles & the World, is on from January 26 until June 4. Organised in partnership with Musée national des châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon, with the support of France Muséums, the exhibition will showcase the history of the royal court at Versailles. Visitors can explore more than 120 artworks from the collections of Louvre Abu Dhabi, the UK’s Royal Collection Trust, and 17 French lenders, including the Musée National des Châteaux de Versailles et de Trianon, alongside a wide-ranging cultural programme.  Louvre Abu Dhabi is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am-6.30pm; closed on Mondays. City Gazing Dubai at Gate Avenue

Technology and creativity come together in a spectacular art installation at DIFC Gate Avenue, where VOUW, an Amsterdam-based design studio, has unveiled City Gazing Dubai. Highlighting Dubai’s evolution, the installation is a rendition of satellite images of Dubai made with 18m x 11m of LEDs set to music. The multisensory exhibit is suspended 8 meters high over DIFC Gate Avenue, where it will be on display and open to the public until January 29 from 7.10pm to 3am.

TriYAS Challenge: The race is on

The registrations for the 12th edition of the much-awaited TriYAS Challenge has now opened. The popular community triathlon, which includes swimming, cycling and a run, promises to be a grueling test of your fitness level. Feeling overwhelmed by the prospect? Relax, this year the organisers have added several competition options for those who wish to participate for the simple joy of being outdoors. Dubai lights

At DIFC, festival goers can experience City Gazing Dubai by VOUW, but there are also other installations. At The Pointe, there is Absorbed by Light by Gail Mary Lucas where visitors can join beautifully lit figures on the seating bench for a highly instagrammable experience and Talking Heads, a creation by artist Viktor Vicsek that spotlights four thousand LED lamps to showcase different facial expressions located at the valet parking area. At La Mer, Lightbattle X is a fun interactive piece from artists Venividimultiplex, while Rhizome, also at La Mer, allows visitors to experience a botany-inspired laser show. Dubai Desert Classic

DP World Tour Number One Collin Morikawa, four-time Major champion Rory McIlroy and defending champion Paul Casey will be joined in a star-studded field at the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic that takes place from January 27-30 on the Majlis course at Emirates Golf Club. And for the first time in the tournament’s history, tickets for the Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic are free for spectators over all four days.

Apart from golf and food, Tournament Town will host a range of activities to keep the whole family entertained. Some of the city’s most talented local performers will belt out classic tunes and singalongs, with bean bags and seating adding a relaxed vibe to proceedings. On occasion of Indian Republic Day, fine-dining restaurant Kutir in the Opportunity District of Dubai Expo 2020 has created a special menu which is a lipsmacking fusion of fresh ingredients and delightful spices. Created by Michelin star chef Rohit Ghai who has stirred up quite a storm in the UK’s vibrant culinary scene, the three-course menu is available from January 22-31.  While the vegetarian option is for Dh225 per person, the non vegetarian option is for Dh275.
