Close on the heels of the Rove City Centre at Deira that launched in December, the Rove Healthcare City is expected to open in the first quarter of this year. This will be the fourth property under Rove Hotels in the UAE, a contemporary mid-scale lifestyle brand. The hotel has 286 rooms, 30 per cent of which are interconnected for families. The St Regis Dubai, Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club

Opening on February 1 and located in Dubailand, this will be St Regis’ first equestrian-inspired resort. The 151 guest rooms, including 30 suites and 25 villas, and five restaurants, are designed around four polo fields. While the equestrian theme continues with top-notch stables, the hotel will also have an academy to train in showjumping, dressage and polo. Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai, Jumeirah Bay Island

The classy Italian fine-jewellery brand’s hospitality arm has joined hands with Meraas to launch a hotel in Dubai this year on the seahorse-shaped Jumeirah Bay Island. The Dubai property – one of Bulgari’s three international hotels to be launched this year – doesn’t have an exact opening date yet (at the time of going to press). But it has already created a lot of buzz for its chic design by Italian firm Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners, featuring lush landscaped gardens, 100 rooms and suites, 20 residential villas and a marina. The Oberoi Beach Resort, Al Zorah, Ajman

The Oberoi’s much-awaited Ajman resort launches in early 2017. Located in the Al Zorah nature reserve, the beachfront resort’s highlight is an 18-hole golf course designed by global golf design firm Nicklaus Design. There’s two F&B outlets, 113 rooms with options of suites and villas with their own temperature-controlled pools and private beach access. The spa offers hammams, yoga and meditation sessions. The Wyndham Garden Ajman Corniche

Wyndham Hotel Group’s first Wyndham Garden in the UAE opens on Ajman Corniche at the end of 2017. The 17-storey, four-star hotel will have 179 guest rooms (138 rooms and 41 suites) aimed at leisure travellers and on-the-go business people. Plans include an executive lounge, two restaurants, an outdoor swimming pool, gym and spa, separate health clubs for men and women, as well as a kids’ play area. Visit

Located in the heart of Downtown Dubai, the newest Address Hotel is aimed at corporate travellers and holidaying families. Keeping up with the area’s soaring skyline, the hotel’s 72-storey curvilinear tower houses 196 rooms along with 532 serviced residencies. It’s the luxe Address Suite that takes the cake, offering Burj Khalifa, Downtown Dubai and Arabian Gulf views. Set to open its doors in winter, this Rotana property will have 327 luxe rooms and suites and 13 villas. Dukes Dubai, Palm Jumeirah

The Palm gets two new five-star hotels early this year. British hospitality brand Dukes’ first international property opened six of its 15 floors to guests on December 28, while the Viceroy is due next month. Dukes’ 273 guest rooms, including 64 suites and a unique ladies-only Liberty Duchess floor with 20 rooms, will fully open to guests by the end of Q1. Marriott Hotel Al Forsan, Abu Dhabi

For the sport lovers, the Marriott Hotel Al Forsan is set to open in February within Al Forsan International Sports Resort in Abu Dhabi’s Khalifa City. With six F&B outlets, the 400 rooms of the hotel overlook the sports resort’s equestrian centre and wake- boarding lake.
